PDP 2008

Attended Professional Development Programme (PDP) 2008 today...
It's a programme, introducing the new Piano Syllabus 2009-2010,
presented by The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM)...

As i'm currently taking diploma in teaching of ABRSM,
my teacher asked me to join this programme as well...
So, this is my first time...
=)

Kuching is the 4th station....
They went to KL - Penang - Kota Kinabalu - Kuching....
Then, goin Johor Bahru - Singapore - Jakarta....

Let's start toking bout the 'ang mo'.......

WOW~~~
They are FANTASTIC!!!
Their fingers are like the same body with the 'black & white' keys....
So envy......

Though we all sit till 'buttock' hard...
But, reali worth it...
Can learn lotsa skills...
The way they turn laterally, up n down etc....
reali Perfect!!!

I reached Hilton at 0830...
OMG!!! All TEACHERS...
N 98% female... Only got 3 male if i'm not wrong...
N 98% chinese...
I wonder there is anymore Malay or other races piano teacher in Sarawak(coz gt ppl come from Miri, Bintulu, Sibu etc.)
They all so senior....
i'm absolutely the youngest again...
Aiks...
According to my teacher,
there are new faces this year...
So, mayb i'm not the only 1 who attend this seminar the 1st time...

The seminar start at 0900...
Then, till 1100...
Got a teabreak...

So, all of us go for a cup of coffee...
Then,
as i only know few frens taking same course with me & my teacher,
so follow them...
Then, they tok tok tok with their frens...
i just smiling thr...

Then, got a lady(miss A) say to me :' u look familiar larr...'

In never c her b4...
haha... Then, i just smile n say :'Oh, izzit?? hehe'

Then, i went to the toilet nearby...
Coz at that time not many ppl....

Then, in the toilet, while waiting....

Got another teacher (miss B) :' Whr u teach piano?'
Me:' at home and at my teacher's house'
B : ' owh, that's good... Who is ur teacher??'
Me : 'shirley...'
B : 'Owh, shirley.. Teach how long already?'
Me :' hehe... (feel paiseh...) just started formally this year...
B :' Formally???
Me :'yaya... b4 that just teach a few school's junior(actually only 5) for about 1 year...
B :' owh... That's good... Start teaching since secondary... Just finished ur degree??'
Me :' =___=''' i'm fresh graduate of Form 5.... Taking diploma in teaching with Shirley now...'
B :' owh, izzit?? Great, u still so young... Bright future... So u plan to teach piano in ur future??
Me:' err... still not sure yet... i currently taking CAT at Sunway College...
B :' wow.... Future accountant!!! That's good... My niece at Sunway KL taking ACCA too... ACCA got reali good future... N u got diploma in music somemore... I asked her to continue her diploma in performance but she dun wan... U so hardworking... U taking ABRSM's course??
Me : ' (feel paiseh) ya...
B :' Ur jumper very nice... Where u bought it? i was looking for 1... Then, cud hardly find a long 1 like urs...
Me : 'oh, thankyou... My mum bought for me from Brisbane... I also could hardly find 1 in kch...'
B :' yaya... Ur mum sure very happy & love u...'
Me :' haha... (so so paiseh)

Then, miss A came in to the toilet too...

A :'ey, ****** (i duno wad she call miss A), u noe her too?? (in hokkien)
B :' no.. She's Shirley's student... (in hokkien)
A :' no wonder u seems so familiar to me...' ( in English ) - i noe how to speak hokkien too narrr.... =______=
Me :' oh... haha... U met me b4?? '
A : ' yaya... when u having concert at Shirley's house...'
Me : 'owh... sry... din recognise u jz now... i was young that time... only 15...
B : ' How old are u now? '
Me : ' 18....'
A : 'owh... sweet 18... U're so young... But, u look pretty mature... I tot u're working adult...'
Me :' haha... many ppl say i look older than my age...'
B : 'nono... It's mature... not old... lady like us are old... hahahaha...
A :' How long hav u been teaching??' (same ques again... aiks...

(then, luckily is my turn to go toilet)

A :'owh, u go to the toilet 1st.... "
Me : ' okok... =) excuse me...

( then, when i come out... Luckily both of them are in the toilet dy... Eheheks...)

Then, continue the seminar till 1300...
Then, went down to the restaurant for lunch...
WOW!!!
So many ppl thr...
Coz 3 ballroom's ppl gather at thr...
The food is nice...
Plan to bring my mum them go thr for buffet dinner if my share got gain... Eheheks...

Then, 1400 start till 1530...
Break again....
But, i din leave the ballroom together with my teacher n frens...
Coz i'm still very full n i'm lazy...
haha... later those teachers ask ask ask again...
So better stay in the ballroom..

Aiks, this time is the 'ang mo' ask me question...
AH!!!!
So nervous at that time...
They ask me : 'did i find the seminar useful to my teaching...'
I sais yes...
Haha... Actually how do i noe... I haven try the skills on my students yet...
But, i dun dare to say much... later they ask more again...
haha...

Then, luckily got a teacher wanna ask them some question...
Then, i'm 'safe'.... haha....
I went to the back to buy exam pieces & repertoire...
Coz got 20% for teachers today...

Aiks.... Spend lotsa money today...
RM 99 - for the PDP
RM 190 - Exam pieces + Repertoire
RM 4 - parking
RM 89 - petrol

But, all not me pay lorr except the parking....
Eheheks...
Started to use my CC today...
Daddy sure vomit blood when he sees the bank statement later...
Eheheks...

Then, till 1700...
Then du go home niao...
Very tired... Coz sit whole day...

Overall comment:
- gain useful experience
- know more piano teachers
- learnt useful skills
- improved my social skils

So... 99 shud be worth it narr...
